The Community Therapeutic Day School (CTDS), founded in 1974, is a special education school located on a 4- acre former dairy farm. The orchard, woodlands, nature path, perennial gardens, historic barn and playground offer educational and recreational opportunities. The property is the former “Parker Homestead”, home of John Parker, captain of the Lexington Minutemen.
CTDS enrolls children with severe emotional and neurologic difficulties that interfere with their learning and prevent them from attending regular school programs. The school follows the guidelines of the Massachusetts Core Curriculum. A library, computers and audiovisual materials supplement classroom learning.
